The Venezuelan authorities have announced the update of Patria’s national payment platform. One of the key changes is support for Bitcoin and Litecoin wallets, according to the report.
New features will appear after adding appropriate pairs for exchange for the national crypt currency. All transactions using bitcoin, Litecoin or El Petro will be charged a fee.
For the time being tested, some functions will be launched for a limited number of users. The authorities expect that this will allow Venezuelans to officially receive transfers in digital assets.
„The Patria platform will gradually connect these and other services,“ the developers say.
Recall that in September, President Nicolas Maduro presented a bill expanding the use of El Petro and other cryptov currencies in domestic and foreign trade. With its help, the Venezuelan authorities hoped to circumvent the U.S. sanctions.
